Institutions of higher education today realize that one of the greatest growth areas is that of online education. The US Department of Education projects that over the next decade a 9% growth rate for traditional aged students compared to a 23% growth rate for populations over the age of 25 years. Adding this statistic with those from the SLOAN-Consortium we know that the population diversity changes in higher education combined with the value factor of online convenience leads directly to the outcome of online delivery methods for both traditional and adult students.
